The PeakTech 1636 Current Clamp measures small alternate leakage currents with the resolution of 100 µA.
A current clamp measures the algebraic sum of the currents passing between its jaws. If both the phase conductor and the neutral are passed, the total current should be 0, the difference, if any, is the earth leakage current.
In daily work this measuring device is ideal for identifying and measuring currents leakage that can occur due to poor insulation to earth.
In addition to measuring small currents, the PeakTech 1636 can also measure alternating currents up to 200 A with a resolution of 0.1 A and is therefore useful in various fields.
